21-Day NIA Challenge for Mighty Aphrodite

Leave it to me to have an idea and want everyone to play with me — Here’s the background on the 21-day challenge & my first report: Last Sunday in my early morning meditation practice, I drew the Goddess Card of Aphrodite, her message was to “awaken the inner goddess within through dance, Self-care and appreciating my divinity.”
Soon after I was reading emails and saw an announcement for a new Sunday morning NIA class (NIA is a Dance Movement Technique that I have been in love with for 10 years now and hold a Blue Belt Teacher Certification). Lately it’s been one thing convincing me NOT to go after another. My mind can convince me that my body doesn’t want to move or that I need to stay home and work, yadda, yadda, yadda……However, before I could convince myself to stay in, I put on my dancing clothes and went. As happens many times when I am dancing, I have a zillion new creative ideas pop in – of which one of them was – “I wonder what it would be like to go to NIA for 21-days straight??? Could I do it? “ So I declared it to the owner of the NIA Studio and drove home all bouncy with the idea.
Then Tuesday as I was preparing for the new Teaching the Plan class, I had another idea to invite everyone on the call to create their own personal 21-day Challenge. After all, when we shift something inside of us, our clients have more personal transformations with their BEE-ing Attraction plans and we have some experiences to share with them. So it seemed to be the perfect thing to add along with the training.
To my delight the whole class seemed to love the idea and it was so inspiring to hear what each person readily created for themselves. So here I am in Day 4 of my own personal challenge, I am reaping many pearls of wisdom about myself.
Day 4 Report:
Today I changed my outfit before I went about 6 times, looking in the mirror and criticizing my body in each outfit, then when I tried every out, I just left. When I arrived at the class and stood in front of the wall of mirrors that reflected my ‘less than perfect body’ I was comparing myself to the Size 0 teacher and The other skinny- minis who are in their 20’s and took a deep breath as the music and movement started. Then I told my critical mind to SHUT UP – and reminded myself that I was there to BEE in my body and moooove it as a joyful express of my inner Goddess.
Funny thing is that as I started to dance and enjoy the fun, the music, the connection with others, I looked in the mirror and noticed how GREAT I was looking!!! Go figure.
After just 4 days, my body is feeling stronger in my core, and I feel my stamina increasing. Also I noticed that I was eating better today – more of those rainbow colored vegi’s and fruits that was mentioned in class on Tuesday. My daughter and Grandson’s arrive tomorrow – normally I go way off my eating plan when they are around and never seem to work in exercise at all. This time I told my daughter about my challenge and she wants to go with me to dance. This is a joy to me as we used to go together to dance classes when we both lived in Houston. It’s been 5 years since doing a class together.
Anyone can play along with us — come and create your own 21-day Personal Challenge. I’d love to hear what challenge you take on, so be sure and post a comment or write to me: jan@perfectcustomers.com
Today Who I am BEE-ing is Mighty Aphrodite joyfully dancing every day.
Attractively,
Goddess Jan

I am a Business Administration student at the University of Oregon and want to start reading more than just my course books. I have read some classics like “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu and more recent business books like “The Little Red Book of Selling” and “Good to Great.” What are some other books that every business student should read before going into the real world.

You can be a goddess in your own way. No need to fake yourself or pretend.
