Anam Cara …. Soul Friends

Anam Cara is a Gaelic word
    meaning “soul friend”. It symbolizes a spiritual friendship that is not
    affected by time, distance, or separation. In the old Celtic tradition, the
    Anam Cara was someone you could share your innermost self, mind and heart.
    This soul friendship was an act of recognition and belonging helping us
    return to the heart of our spirit.

Goddess Biz is reminded today about the importance of having an Anam Cara in our lives, in other words, a soul friend. As you read the definition above, more than likely at least one person came to your mind where you have already experienced someone being your Anam Cara. Perhaps you are the Anam Cara to the other people in your life and didn’t even realize that there was such a thing… yet you naturally acted as someone who your friend could open their heart to. Instead of buying into the muck of what they might be saying, you saw their soul and who they really are in this world.

During this Holiday Season, Goddess Biz is reminding you to celebrate Anam Cara and to express gratitude to the people who are your Soul Friends. Take time to break bread with them, if possible, or to write them a handwritten note thanking them for being your soul friend.
