A man and a woman performing a modern dance.

Today I made a giant stride forward on our product launch.  I feel good about this accomplishment because over the last couple of weeks, it had started to look like there were more obstacles than forward movement. Now I can see how the challenges were actually building blocks to our ultimate goal.

The due date for the product launch has moved now to the end of October because things have come up to be dealt with that I didn’t foresee.  In particular, I wouldn’t have thought these things had anything to do with a business deal.  Things like physical health for example.  After a blood test showed high glucose ratings, Alan had to make a drastic change in his eating and exercise program which dramatically effected me.  While he took on the challenge and immediately made the necessary changes, I was resisting making any changes to MY diet and exercise program.  My resistance didn’t help make things easier for me.  I am the primary cook and food planner in our partnership so after awhile I saw that it was up to me to do it differently too.

Now I’ve changed my eating to increase protein, decrease carbohydrates and I have made a commitment to consistently go to my NIA Dance Technique classes.  As I began to relax into the change it doesn’t feel as drastic of a commitment since this way of living suits my basic eating styles.  The biggest shift came in being proactive in making advanced plans for meals, grocery shopping, and to have the necessary foods in the refrigerator to eat the 5 meals recommended a day — if I do this then I am doing fine.  Additionally, the time required to attend 3 -4 dance classes a week plus walking on alternate days requires a balancing act to stay focused on all of this PLUS remember that I have a major product launch happening at the same time.

Then a thought came in this morning ……..what if this new eating program IS part of the product launch and getting strong IS required to help me reach and sustain my goal. My physical health and well-being is what showed up to handle first, oddly enough, and when that is in place I will be able to take all of the necessary steps to implement the vision.

When I went to my NIA class this morning, after this revolutionary thought arrived, I began to notice that in a matter of weeks, my physical strength has improved dramatically.  The class is quite a work out, and I was able to have the leg strength to do the sumo wrestler stance and to go to the floor and back up again in a consistent flowing movement.  My arm strength has increased and I have to say the 3 pounds I lost with this new eating plan helps boost my self-confidence when I look in the mirror.  It also helps that NIA is one of my top passions in life, I love to dance!

A product launch takes commitment, focus, balance, energy, and now I know that it takes physical strength as well.  How far into the red maze will I go???  Stay tuned, things are just getting interesting!
